If you are planning to graduate in spring 2021, don’t forget that by February 26, you must submit a preliminary draft of your thesis or dissertation online in TRACE for review by the Coordinator of Student Services.

A new session of Format Chat has been scheduled for February 23 from 9:30–11:00 a.m. to replace the January session that was canceled. Visit the UT Calendar to register for this session.

Format Chat returns for spring 2021! Hosted by the Coordinator of Student Services, each session will feature a presentation on the Graduate School’s thesis and dissertation formatting requirements along with an overview of processes, forms/deadlines, common errors and helpful resources.

If you’re a PhD candidate in a dissertation program planning to graduate fall 2020, be sure you’ve scheduled your defense by October 30th! Keep up with all the graduation deadlines.

Be aware that iThenticate will be down on January 4, 2020 from 11am until 5pm for maintenance.

The Graduate School hopes you’ll join us at Thompson Boling Arena on December 12 at 4:30 for the Fall 2019 Graduate Hooding Ceremony. But, if you’re unable to attend the ceremony in person, you can still watch it live by webcast.

Tuesday, July 30, is a major deadline for all students intending to graduate in summer 2019. Final theses and dissertations are to be submitted to Trace, and be accepted by the Thesis/Dissertation Consultant by 5:00 p.m. All doctoral candidates must complete the Survey of Earned Doctorates by this date, as well. And the Pass/Fail form and Thesis/Dissertation Approval form (if you’re in a thesis or dissertation program) must be submitted by 5:00 p.m. to the Graduate School. For more details, and links to the relevant forms, please check out our graduation deadlines.

The Spring 2019 Graduate Hooding Ceremony was a wonderful event, as usual. Nearly 440 graduate students participated in the ceremony on Thursday evening, May 9, in Thompson-Boling Arena. The Graduate School would like to extend congratulations to all of our graduates. Well done! For those who were unable to attend, you can still watch the entire ceremony’s webcast.
