The DEI Awareness for the Workforce series continues on February 25 from 5:00p.m.–6:30p.m. with “Writing Your Diversity Statement.” Increasingly, positions in higher education and industry require applicants to submit a diversity statement as part of their materials. The goal of this panel is to discuss what a diversity statement is, its purposes, and what an effective statement should include. Participants will reflect on the value of diversity, equity, and inclusion in their life; how their research, teaching & mentoring, and service experiences demonstrate their commitment to these values; and how they might contribute to fostering a culture of diversity, equity, and inclusion within the school, organization, or company they join.
