DEI Awareness for the Workforce

DEI Awareness for the Workforce

Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. said “An individual has not started living until he can rise above the narrow confines of his individualistic concerns to the broader concerns of all humanity. Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) are terms that are part of our daily lexicon but are we comfortable with our understanding of those terms, and are we empowered to use them, both in preparation and entry into the workforce. DEI Awareness in the Workforce Series, organized by the Graduate and Professional Student Professional Development Initiative (GPSPD), provides an opportunity for graduate and professional students to reflect on what diversity, equity and inclusion means for them, how to apply it in their research, and write diversity statements that demonstrates their commitment to DEI for prospective employers.

  • Reflecting on DEI
  • Applying DEI in Research
  • Writing Your Diversity Statement
  • Feedback and Discussion

Registering for the series will allow access to the Canvas course for the workshop and to the Zoom sessions.
