Preliminary Draft of Thesis/Dissertation Due Feb. 26
If you are planning to graduate in spring 2021, don’t forget that by February 26, you must submit a preliminary draft of your thesis or dissertation online in TRACE for review by the Coordinator of Student Services.

New February Format Chat Session
A new session of Format Chat has been scheduled for February 23 from 9:30–11:00 a.m. to replace the January session that was canceled. Visit the UT Calendar to register for this session.

Format Chat Spring 2021
Format Chat returns for spring 2021! Hosted by the Coordinator of Student Services, each session will feature a presentation on the Graduate School’s thesis and dissertation formatting requirements along with an overview of processes, forms/deadlines, common errors and helpful resources.
Dissertation Institute for Underrepresented Graduate Students in Engineering
The 4th Dissertation Institute (DI), will take place June 7th – 12th on the University of Michigan campus. This institute, an interactive workshop for underrepresented (African American, Native American, Pacific Island and Hispanic American) graduate students in engineering, is funded by the National Science Foundation and hosted by University of Texas, Dallas and Virginia Tech. The primary goal is to address issues that prolong completion times for those at the dissertation proposal preparation and dissertation completion stages of the targeted population.
