Nicole Choppin, an MSSW student here at UT, was recently featured by the College of Social Work. Choppin is pursuing an MSSW through the Paul D. Coverdell Fellows Program, which provides returned Peace Corps volunteers with tuition support, a stipend, and the opportunity to continue making a difference in underserved communities. Her time in the Peace Corps was spent in Lumajang, East Java, Indonesia, where she was given the opportunity to fully immerse herself in a culture completely unlike her own.
Read more about Nicole, her inspiration to join the Peace Corps, how it shaped her decision to pursue social work, and how she came to find herself here on Rocky Top.
