UT Verse: The Basics of Effective Prompt Writing for UT Verse AI

Office of Innovative Technologies (OIT)

Thursday, March 27, 9:30am–10:30am (Virtual)

Have you ever wondered why your Artificial Intelligence (AI) tool doesn’t seem to understand your request? Writing an effective prompt is the key to getting accurate and useful responses from tools like UT Verse. Prompts are the questions or commands we give to AI, and the better they are, the better the results. Think of it as having a conversation with a highly intelligent assistant—clear, precise questions lead to clear, concise answers.

By the end of this workshop, participants will understand the importance of creating effective prompts, recognize the difference between generic and effective prompts, and identify key elements that make a prompt successful. Attendees will also have the opportunity to practice writing prompts for various scenarios and apply those skills in real-world situations.
