Julian Cosner, a doctoral candidate in the Department of Entomology and Plant Pathology, was recently spotlighted by the Office of Research Engagement in a recent issue of Catalyst. The Graduate School is especially enthusiastic about Cosner and his work, as he is one of our current Tennessee Doctoral Fellows. Cosner was one of five recipients of the prestigious award, which is funded by the Tennessee Higher Education Commission and the Graduate School.
Industrial hemp is a newly emerging agricultural market in Tennessee, but there is a need for more research, state-of-the-art tools, and methods of production to advance the industry. Cosner is hoping to fill that gap by providing pest management strategies for Tennessee hemp growers. Read more about Cosner and his research and view other ORE Graduate Student Spotlights.
