Webster C. Pendergrass Agriculture and Veterinary Medicine Library seeks a graduate research assistant to join its team from January 1, 2025–July 31, 2025. The GRA works 20 hours each week, including supervising library operations on Saturdays, during a regular semester schedule. The GRA will gain experience working on collaborative and independent projects that further the library’s goals, with some work tailored to the individual’s interests and skills. Salary is $2,391.34/month, in addition to full tuition waiver. Additional details about benefits can be found in the Policy for the Administration of Graduate Assistantships.
Duties of the Position
Duties may include:
- reference assistance
- supervision of Pendergrass Library on Saturdays
- public services (including circulation, basic technology assistance, etc.)
- library outreach, promotions, and events
- collection development and management
- assessment
- instruction
- LibGuide creation and management
Qualifications
Successful candidates will have the following qualifications:
- being a graduate student in information sciences, agriculture, or a related program
- availability to work 10:00 AM-6:00 PM on Saturdays during semesters
- excellent interpersonal skills and commitment to high-quality customer service
- willingness to pursue a variety of library projects and tasks
- knowledge of various information and computer resources, including databases, online catalogs, internet search engines, and software
