The Commission for Women is hosting a panel discussion for graduate students on the topic of academic motherhood. The event is in Henson Hall room 220 on October 6 at 10:00 a.m., with a hybrid attendance option. The event is open to the campus, although the focus will be on preparing for an academic career while in the dual role of a mother.
Three current graduate students and one assistant professor will be sitting on the panel and sharing their experiences and expertise. They will be discussing the challenges of academic motherhood including work/life balance, advancing in your academic degree program, multiple role identities, and opportunities for increasing support for parents among UT’s graduate students.
