First Session of What’s Your Work About? on Tuesday

The first session of What’s Your Work About? will be on Tuesday, February 8 from 5:30–7pm on Zoom. This session, “Creating Clear and Compelling Abstracts,” will be facilitated by Dr. Kirsten Benson, the director of the Judith Anderson Herbert Writing Center. The focus will be on the purpose, expectations, and general structure of an abstract, a genre used to communicate complex ideas concisely for other researchers. The session is designed for graduate students who are or will be preparing to submit an abstract to present at a conference or for publication and will include hands-on writing practice.

The What’s Your Work About? series is designed to provide guidance and discussion to help graduate and professional students communicate their research effectively to multiple audiences, both inside and outside their field.
