Get a good start to your first semester at UT as a graduate student with our fall orientations.
Orientations 2025
The New Graduate Student Orientation will take place virtually on August 5 from 8:30am–noon. The New Graduate Student Orientation is designed to provide all new graduate students with the information they need to get a good start in their program. This program includes presentations on financing graduate education and research, student health insurance, professional development, and much more.
The New Graduate Teaching Assistant/Associate Orientation is designed to prepare graduate students (most of whom are new to the university) to succeed as an instructor. There are sessions on inclusive teaching processes, library resources for instructors, student conduct, student success, and others. This orientation will take place virtually on August 7, from 8:30am–noon.
In addition to the virtual sessions, we will also host the Graduate Student and Postdoc Community Fair on August 8 from 11am-1pm in Strong Hall. This is an in-person event and you can get details about parking and what community partners will be there to meet you.
Recordings of the sessions from last year are accessible as Graduate and Professional Student Resources and Graduate Teaching Assistant/Associate Resources.
