Nick Jakel serves as the Program Coordinator for the Graduate Student Senate (GSS). In this role, he supports and advises student leaders throughout their time with GSS. He aids in the election process and leadership transition, along with training and retreat development for student leaders. He also supports GSS communication, budget management and development, and event planning efforts. 

Nick graduated from California State University, Fullerton in 2018 with a BA in Business Administration with an emphasis in marketing and a minor in communications advertising. He earned a MA in Leadership Development with an emphasis in higher education from Chapman University. In Fall 2022, Nick will begin his PhD in Higher Education Administration at UT. Previously, Nick has served at a variety of institutions, including UT, primarily in a higher education communications capacity. 

When he’s not working, he can be found spending time with his wife, riding his e-bike around Knoxville, kayaking, playing softball and pickleball, or visiting the Smoky Mountains.
