Beyond applying to a graduate certificate program and completing the necessary coursework, there are two steps required to earn a graduate certificate. Be sure to check the Graduation Deadlines to see when you must complete these steps for the term in which you intend to earn the certificate.

Course Verification

Students seeking a graduate certificate must complete a Graduate Certificate Course Verification. The Graduate Certificate Course Verification confirms that you have completed the coursework necessary to earn the Graduate Certificate. If you are completing a degree program in the same term, be sure to indicate that on the form.

Graduation Application

You will need to submit a Graduation Application online, using the form on your MyUTK account. If you are only earning a graduate certificate this term, a non-refundable processing fee ($30) will be charged once you have submitted the application. You will pay this fee through MyUTK.
