If you are engaging in research that involves working with other humans, you should be aware of the Institutional Review Board. The IRB has been established to protect the rights and welfare of human research subjects recruited to participate in research activities at UT. On Tuesday, January 31, from 10:00am to 11:00am, the Human Research Protection Program (HRPP) will offer a workshop to help you understand the IRB approval process.
This session will be an overall introduction to the IRB process at UT. It will cover the basic overall requirements when submitting a new application to the IRB including what the IRB requires in a protocol, creating meaningful consent forms, and requirements for other attachments. This session is designed to provide actionable information for investigators who are new to UT, as well as experienced researchers.
Be sure to register for this virtual session, which is open to all members of the UT community. Contact Rob Withrow (rwithrow@utk.edu) with any questions about the session.
