Student Assistant Position in the UT Libraries

The UT Libraries is looking for a highly motivated and driven graduate student who needs experience with teaching and community outreach. The position offers a 20-hour commitment per week with flexible scheduling opportunities, including evenings and weekends, as needed. Student assistants are expected to assist in the planning and implementation of basic educational orientations and activities for K-12 students. Additionally, assistants may also work on event programming; display creation; Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion programming; and student outreach within the greater Knoxville community. Strong applicants should have a flexible, growth-oriented outlook and be willing to craft sustainable and essential programming to assist with K-12 student outreach.

Student assistants may serve for one or two years in their position. This job experience has provided former students with an excellent foundation for future academic or employment opportunities. The compensation for this position is $12.00/hour. This position does not waive tuition or fees.
