Psychology PhD Student Spotlighted by ORE

Abigail DiMercurio, a PhD student in the Department of Psychology, wants to answer questions about how our brains develop and we gain the abilities to walk and talk. She works with infants to investigate the relationship between motor and language development to discover how exploring the physical environment relates to word learning. DiMercurio is excited about the impact her research could have on fields beyond developmental psychology, such as artificial intelligence (AI) in robots.
