UT Students Honored in Genetic Engineering Competition

Donovan Layton, David Garcia, and Jong-Won Lee serve as graduate advisors for a team of undergraduate students (Amany Alshibli, Marti Bell, Evan Boone, Trey Foshee, Katherine Krouse, Matthew Kubis, Neel Patel, Taylor Weiskettle and Brandon Wilbanks) in the Department of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering who received a gold medal designation in a competition sponsored by the International Genetically Engineered Machine (iGem) Foundation. This foundation is an independent nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing the field through education, competition and collaboration. The iGem Competition is a premier international competition for undergraduate students in the field of synthetic biology.
