Nuclear Engineering Student Receives Innovation Award

Nicholas Luciano, a PhD student in the Department of Nuclear Engineering, has been awarded a prize in the Innovations in Fuel Cycle Research Awards sponsored by the US Department of Energy, Office of Fuel Cycle Technologies. Luciano’s award is in the Competition for Students Who Attend Universities with Less than $600 Million in 2014 R&D Expenditures. His award-winning research paper, “Modeling and Simulation of an Operational VVER-1000 Benchmark with NESTLE,” was presented at the International Congress on Advances in Nuclear Power Plants in April 2016.
