Graduate in Social Work Helping Inmates and their Families

Dana Harrison

Dana Harrison, pictured last year when she won an Employee of the Year award from the Federal Public Defender Office in the Eastern District of Arkansas.

Dana Harrison will receive her DSW from UT on Thursday. Her work has centered around death row inmates and their families, working on ways to “help inmates and family members with issues that affect them during incarceration and the execution.”

She is no stranger to these issues, as she has worked with death row inmates for the past twelve years, and she is now a mitigation investigator for the Federal Public Defender Office in the Eastern District of Arkansas. She completed her online program with a capstone project about the effects of grief on family members of executed death row inmates. Read more about Dana and her incredible work.
