Tennessee Today posted news items about two of our graduate students on Tuesday, May 10.

farquharson-and-omeally-300x200Melissa Farquharson graduates on May 12th with a master’s degree in sport management. Her journey from the inner city of Kingston, Jamaica to UT is an inspiring one, fueled by her own tenacity, a passion for sports, and the help of many avid supporters.

Joy Buongiorno, a graduate research assistant in in microbiology, assisted the UT Police Department in recovering over $100,000 in property that has been stolen from campus buildings over the past several months. Showing courage and a keen eye, Buongiorno followed the suspect on foot, staying on the phone with UTPD to help them locate the stolen property.
