Driving Directions

NOTE: Please allow extra time as there are many traffic lights to pass through on your way to the Thompson/Boling Arena area.

ALSO: avoid using on-line direction services (mapquest/google maps/yahoo maps, etc.) as the James White Parkway at I-40 will be closed for 10 or more months, and this closure will not be reflected in the on-line services.

From North of Knoxville - Traveling I-75/I-275 South to 441 South

  • Follow I-75 South toward Knoxville to I-275 South.
  • Continue on I-275 South and follow 158 (James White Parkway).
  • Take Exit 388A (James White Parkway)
  • Follow James White Parkway to Neyland Drive.
  • Continue on Neyland Drive to the 3rd traffic light.
  • Turn right onto Lake Loudon Boulevard.
  • At the 1st traffic light turn right onto Phillip Fulmer Way.

From Northeast of Knoxville  Traveling I-81 South to I-40 West

  • Follow I-81 South toward Knoxville to I-40 West.
  • At mile marker 393 follow Downtown/Local Traffic Only sign (left two lanes).
  • Take Exit 389 (Hall of Fame Drive)
  • Turn left onto Hall of Fame Drive and continue to the 7th traffic light.
  • Turn right and merge immediately into the left lane to access Neyland Drive.
  • Follow Neyland Drive to the 3rd traffic light.
  • Turn right onto Lake Loudon Boulevard.
  • At the 1st traffic light turn right onto Phillip Fulmer Way.

From South of Knoxville  Traveling I-75 North to I-40 East

  • Follow I-75 North toward Knoxville to I-40 East.
  • At mile marker 385 follow Downtown/Local Traffic Only sign (left two lanes).
  • Take Exit 388A (James White Parkway).
  • Follow James White Parkway to Neyland Drive.
  • Continue on Neyland Drive to the 3rd traffic light.
  • Turn right onto Lake Loudon Boulevard.
  • At the 1st traffic light turn right onto Phillip Fulmer Way.

From South of Knoxville  Traveling US Highway 129 North (Alcoa Highway)

  • Follow Highway 129 toward Knoxville.
  • After passing exit for Cherokee Trail/UT Medical Center, merge right and after crossing bridge, take exit marked DOWTOWN.
  • At end of exit ramp, turn left onto Neyland Drive.
  • Continue on Neyland Drive to the 2nd traffic light.
  • Turn left onto Lake Loudon Boulevard.
  • At the 1st traffic light turn right onto Phillip Fulmer Way.

From East of Knoxville  Traveling I-40

  • Follow I-40 West toward Knoxville.
  • At mile marker 393 follow Downtown/Local Traffic Only sign (left two lanes).
  • Take Exit 389 (Hall of Fame Drive)
  • Turn left onto Hall of Fame Drive and continue to the 7th traffic light.
  • Turn right and merge immediately into the left lane to access Neyland Drive.
  • Follow Neyland Drive to the 3rd traffic light.
  • Turn right onto Lake Loudon Boulevard.
  • At the 1st traffic light turn right onto Phillip Fulmer Way.

From West of Knoxville  Traveling I-40 East

  • Follow I-40 East toward Knoxville.
  • At mile marker 385 follow Downtown/Local Traffic Only sign (left two lanes).
  • Take Exit 388A (James White Parkway).
  • Follow James White Parkway to Neyland Drive.
  • Continue on Neyland Drive to the 3rd traffic light.
  • Turn right onto Lake Loudon Boulevard.
  • At the 1st traffic light turn right onto Phillip Fulmer Way.

Parking Information

Special parking and shuttle arrangements will be provided to support the Graduate Hooding Ceremony on May 8th. You may park for free in Lot G-10, which is located between the arena and the stadium on Philip Fulmer Way. Entrance into the garage is also available from Neyland Drive.
